European Commission, Joint Research Centre

IEEE and the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission (JRC) have entered into an agreement to enable JRC researchers to comply with the European Commission’s reuse policy when publishing in all IEEE Full Gold Open Access journals and Open Access in hybrid journals. To fully comply with the Reuse policy, JRC requires that authors select a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license.

To benefit from this agreement, the corresponding author must be affiliated with JRC. Under the agreement, the article processing charges (APCs) required to publish open access will be covered by JRC (subject to funding request approval), making the publishing process easier and more convenient for authors.

Note: overlength page charges or colour fees are not covered by the agreement and will be charged to authors.

For more information on Open Access at JRC, please consult the Open Access section of the JRC intranet, or contact the JRC at this email address.

About IEEE Institutional OA Agreements

Your institution has an OA publishing agreement with IEEE that makes it easier and more convenient for authors to publish open access. This type of agreement often includes a number of pre-paid article processing charges (APCs) to allow researchers to publish open access in eligible titles. Some institutional agreements have internal processes approving the use of APCs or limitations on the number of APCs available or the type of journals they can be used in. Please speak to your University Librarian or Open Access Administrator for more details and to check availability. Additional information can be found above regarding your institution’s OA agreement.
