The Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Bahia (IFBA), created on December 29, 2008, when Law No. 11,892 was sanctioned, responsible for establishing the Federal Network of Professional, Scientific and Technological Education and transformed the Federal Center of Technological Education of Bahia (CEFET) into the Federal Institute of Bahia (IFBA), linked to the Ministry of Education (MEC), and member of the National Council of Institutions of the Federal Network of Professional, Scientific and Technological Education (Conif), has the legal nature of an autarchy, holding administrative, patrimonial, financial, didactic-pedagogical and disciplinary autonomy.

The IFBA, through the national contract between CAPES and IEEE has an unlimited open access agreement with IEEE that enables researchers to publish articles as open access without open access fees in all IEEE fully and hybrid open access journals. The agreement applies to all original research articles accepted for publication between 5 November 2024 – 30 October 2027. To benefit from this agreement, the corresponding author has to be affiliated with IFBA. Please use the correct institution name and your institutional email address during submi​​ssion. It is recommended for authors to select the CC BY 4.0 license. The open access funding request will be approved by an OA administrator at CAPES. Overlength page charges or color fees are not covered by the agreement and will be charged to authors.

About IEEE Institutional OA Agreements

Your institution has an OA publishing agreement with IEEE that makes it easier and more convenient for authors to publish open access. This type of agreement often includes a number of pre-paid article processing charges (APCs) to allow researchers to publish open access in eligible titles. Some institutional agreements have internal processes approving the use of APCs or limitations on the number of APCs available or the type of journals they can be used in.
