The Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Paraíba (IFPB) is a federal agency linked to the Secretariat of Professional and Technological Education (SETEC) of the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC). A reference in professional education in Paraíba, the IFPB has 24 units distributed throughout the state, including Campuses and Advanced Campuses. The Advanced Campuses are linked to the Rectory, which is headquartered in the capital of Paraíba. The units currently operating under the name Campus are: Cabedelo, Cajazeiras, Campina Grande, Catolé do Rocha, Esperança, Guarabira, Itabaiana, Itaporanga, João Pessoa, Mamanguape, Monteiro, Patos, Picuí, Princesa Isabel, Queimadas, Santa Luzia, Santa Rita, Sapé and Sousa. The Advanced Campuses are: Cabedelo Centro, João Pessoa Mangabeira, Soledade, Areia and Pedras de Fogo. IFPB also has an Innovation Hub accredited by the Brazilian Company for Industrial Research and Innovation (EMBRAPII). Its headquarters are located in João Pessoa and it operates in the area of ​​Systems for Automation in Manufacturing.

The IFPB, through the national contract between CAPES and IEEE has an unlimited open access agreement with IEEE that enables researchers to publish articles as open access without open access fees in all IEEE fully and hybrid open access journals. The agreement applies to all original research articles accepted for publication between 5 November 2024 – 30 October 2027. To benefit from this agreement, the corresponding author has to be affiliated with IFPB. Please use the correct institution name and your institutional email address during submi​​ssion. It is recommended for authors to select the CC BY 4.0 license. The open access funding request will be approved by an OA administrator at CAPES. Overlength page charges or color fees are not covered by the agreement and will be charged to authors.

About IEEE Institutional OA Agreements

Your institution has an OA publishing agreement with IEEE that makes it easier and more convenient for authors to publish open access. This type of agreement often includes a number of pre-paid article processing charges (APCs) to allow researchers to publish open access in eligible titles. Some institutional agreements have internal processes approving the use of APCs or limitations on the number of APCs available or the type of journals they can be used in.
