The Aeronautics Technological Institute (ITA), founded in 1950, is a public university institution linked to the Air Force Command (COMAER). It is located in the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology (DCTA), in the city of São José dos Campos, São Paulo. Specializing in the areas of science and technology in the Aerospace Sector, ITA offers courses in: undergraduate studies in Engineering; stricto sensu postgraduate studies at the Master’s, Professional Master’s and Doctorate levels lato sensu postgraduate studies in specialization and extension.

ITA is considered a reference center for engineering education in Brazil.

The Instituto Tecnológico da Aeronáutica (ITA), through the national contract between CAPES and IEEE has an unlimited open access agreement with IEEE that enables researchers to publish articles as open access without open access fees in all IEEE fully and hybrid open access journals. The agreement applies to all original research articles accepted for publication between 5 November 2024 – 30 October 2027. To benefit from this agreement, the corresponding author has to be affiliated with Instituto Tecnológico da Aeronáutica (ITA). The open access funding request will be approved by an OA administrator at CAPES. Overlength page charges or color fees are not covered by the agreement and will be charged to authors.
