Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia

Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) is a Foundation financed by the Italian State to conduct scientific research in the public interest, for the purpose of technological development. Its aim, as stated in the Foundation Statute, is to promote excellence in basic and applied research and to promote the development of the national economy. IIT activity is focused on four research domains (Computational Science, Life Technologies, Nanomaterials, and Robotics) and conducted in 15 research centers spread all over Italy. IIT’s headquarters are based in Genova.

The Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia through the national contract between CRUI and IEEE has an unlimited open access agreement with IEEE that enables researchers to publish articles as open access without open access fees in all IEEE fully and hybrid open access journals. The agreement applies to all original research articles accepted for publication between August 1, 2022 and December 31, 2024. To benefit from this agreement, the corresponding author has to be affiliated with Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia. Please use the correct institution name and your institutional email address during submission. It is recommended for authors to select the CC BY 4.0 license. The open access funding request will be approved by the Research Organization Directorate.
Overlength page charges or color fees are not covered by the agreement and will be charged to authors.

About IEEE Institutional OA Agreements

Your institution has an OA publishing agreement with IEEE that makes it easier and more convenient for authors to publish open access. This type of agreement often includes a number of pre-paid article processing charges (APCs) to allow researchers to publish open access in eligible titles. Some institutional agreements have internal processes approving the use of APCs or limitations on the number of APCs available or the type of journals they can be used in. Please speak to your University Librarian or Open Access Administrator for more details and to check availability. Additional information can be found above regarding your institution’s OA agreement.
