PUC SP

PUC-SP was founded in 1946, from the union of the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of São Bento (founded in 1908) and the Paulista Faculty of Law. Four other Church institutions were attached to them, but with independent administrative and financial structures. At the time of the Catholic University of São Paulo, whose mission was to educate Catholic leaders and the children of the São Paulo elite. Early the following year, Pope Pius XII granted the Catholic University the title of Pontifical and appointed Cardinal Dom Carlos Carmelo de Vasconcelos Mota as the institution’s first grand chancellor. Also the archbishop of São Paulo, Cardinal Mota was a founder and one of the main idealizers of PUC-SP.

The PUC SP, through the national contract between CAPES and IEEE has an unlimited open access agreement with IEEE that enables researchers to publish articles as open access without open access fees in all IEEE fully and hybrid open access journals. The agreement applies to all original research articles accepted for publication between 5 November 2024 – 30 October 2027. To benefit from this agreement, the corresponding author has to be affiliated with PUC SP. Please use the correct institution name and your institutional email address during submi​​ssion. It is recommended for authors to select the CC BY 4.0 license. The open access funding request will be approved by an OA administrator at CAPES. Overlength page charges or color fees are not covered by the agreement and will be charged to authors.

About IEEE Institutional OA Agreements

Your institution has an OA publishing agreement with IEEE that makes it easier and more convenient for authors to publish open access. This type of agreement often includes a number of pre-paid article processing charges (APCs) to allow researchers to publish open access in eligible titles. Some institutional agreements have internal processes approving the use of APCs or limitations on the number of APCs available or the type of journals they can be used in.
