Rowan University
Rowan University is a Carnegie-classified national doctoral research institution dedicated to excellence in undergraduate education. Founded in 1923, Rowan University has evolved from a teacher preparation school to a comprehensive research university that’s ranked by U.S. News & World Report among the best national public research universities in the nation.
Rowan offers bachelor’s through doctoral programs to more than 22,000 students through its campuses in Glassboro, Camden and Stratford, New Jersey, and online. It is one of only four universities in the nation to grant both M.D. and D.O. medical degrees. Focused on practical research at the intersection of engineering, medicine, science and business, Rowan has earned national recognition for innovation, commitment to high-quality, affordable education, and developing public-private partnerships.
The historic $100-million Rowan gift in 1992 put then-Glassboro State College on a fast track. At the time, the gift was the largest to a public institution in the U.S., and it fostered the creation of the College of Engineering and enabled ambitious growth. Alumni, friends and corporate donors are among those continuing to invest in Rowan and its students, providing opportunities that distinguish the University as a leader in education, health care and research.
