The School promotes the internationalization of didactics and research with innovative paths in the fields of university education, scientific research and advanced training.

The School’s mission is that of serving as a benchmark and quality public institution, attracting talents which are nurtured and educated, in order to take care of the world and to responsibly contribute to its cultural growth and sustainability. We are conscious that merit based on quality skills and commitment represents the true driver of development, the principal mechanism of social mobility, and the resource that we must implement in order to address the challenges of sustainability and justice that the world is currently facing.

The Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna through the national contract between CRUI and IEEE has a limited open access agreement with IEEE that enables researchers to publish articles as open access without open access fees in IEEE hybrid journals. The agreement applies to all original research articles accepted for publication between 1 November 2025 and December 31, 2027. To benefit from this agreement, the corresponding author has to be affiliated with Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna. Please use the correct institution name and your institutional email address during submission. It is recommended for authors to select the CC BY 4.0 license. The open access funding request will be approved by an administrator in the library.
Overlength page charges or color fees are not covered by the agreement and will be charged to authors.

About IEEE Institutional OA Agreements

Your institution has an OA publishing agreement with IEEE that makes it easier and more convenient for authors to publish open access. This type of agreement often includes a number of pre-paid article processing charges (APCs) to allow researchers to publish open access in eligible titles. Some institutional agreements have internal processes approving the use of APCs or limitations on the number of APCs available or the type of journals they can be used in. Please speak to your University Librarian or Open Access Administrator for more details and to check availability. Additional information can be found above regarding your institution’s OA agreement.
