Tampere University

Tampere University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences constitute the Tampere university community. Together we are building a new model for higher education and research in Finland.

Our community was created at the beginning of 2019, when the University of Tampere and Tampere University of Technology were merged establishing the new foundation-based Tampere University that maintains close ties with Tampere University of Applied Sciences.

Our new community brings together research and education, for example, in the fields of economics, technology, health and society.

Tampere University including Tampere University Hospital and Tampere University of Applied Sciences have joined FinELib consortium’s agreement with IEEE. The agreement offers our researchers an opportunity to publish a limited amount of open access articles with a CC BY license for free in IEEE hybrid and fully open access journals annually.

About IEEE Institutional OA Agreements

Your institution has an OA publishing agreement with IEEE that makes it easier and more convenient for authors to publish open access. This type of agreement often includes a number of pre-paid article processing charges (APCs) to allow researchers to publish open access in eligible titles. Some institutional agreements have internal processes approving the use of APCs or limitations on the number of APCs available or the type of journals they can be used in. Please speak to your University Librarian or Open Access Administrator for more details and to check availability. Additional information can be found above regarding your institution’s OA agreement.
