Universidade Candido Mendes (UCAM)
Candido Mendes University is supported by the Brazilian Educational Society, the oldest private higher education institution in the country, founded in 1902 by Count Candido Mendes de Almeida, together with the Rio de Janeiro Academy of Commerce. In 1919, the Rio de Janeiro School of Political and Economic Sciences was created, the first higher education school of Economics in Brazil. Currently, UCAM is distributed across a total of 11 units with 21 undergraduate courses and several others in sequential and technological modalities. The activities of Candido Mendes University, supported by more than a century of tradition and excellence, in which it has established itself as a national and international reference in Human and Social Sciences, bring together more than 20 thousand students and 1,000 professors and researchers.
The Universidade Candido Mendes (UCAM), through the national contract between CAPES and IEEE has an unlimited open access agreement with IEEE that enables researchers to publish articles as open access without open access fees in all IEEE fully and hybrid open access journals. The agreement applies to all original research articles accepted for publication between 5 November 2024 – 30 October 2027. To benefit from this agreement, the corresponding author has to be affiliated with Universidade Candido Mendes (UCAM). Please use the correct institution name and your institutional email address during submission. It is recommended for authors to select the CC BY 4.0 license. The open access funding request will be approved by an OA administrator at CAPES. Overlength page charges or color fees are not covered by the agreement and will be charged to authors.
