Universidade de Araraquara (UNIARA)
With the creation of the São Bento Teaching Association (ASBE) in 1968, a phase was inaugurated that transformed higher education in Araraquara and the surrounding region. That year, the MEC approved the creation of the Araraquara School of Economics and Administration, with courses in Administration and Economics. Shortly thereafter, in 1970, the Araraquara School of Law was authorized, and in 1971, the Araraquara School of Education (which in 1974 would become the Araraquara School of Education and Social Studies). In light of this expansion, the Federation of Isolated Schools of Araraquara (Fefiara) was founded in 1972, bringing together the existing schools. In 1997, the institution obtained its accreditation as a University Center, gaining autonomy for new growth prospects. Thus, Uniara was born. In 2016, the Araraquara University Center was transformed into the University of Araraquara by ministerial order no. 612, dated July 15, 2016. The decision was published in the Official Gazette of the Union (D.O.U.) on July 15, 2016.
