Universidade de Sorocaba (UNISO)
The University of Sorocaba – Uniso is a community-based, regional, non-denominational, high-quality university. Its first seed was the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of Sorocaba, created in 1951, which began operating effectively in 1954 with two courses: Pedagogy and Neo-Latin Letters, and only 27 students. Today, Uniso has more than 60 on-campus undergraduate courses and more than 20 distance learning courses, offers lato and stricto sensu postgraduate courses, and extension courses. Its students come mainly from cities located within a 100-kilometer radius of Sorocaba and are distributed across two campuses: the Professor Aldo Vannucchi University City, inaugurated in 1999, and the Trujillo campus, where the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters was established in 1954.
