Universidade de Uberaba (UNIUBE)
The history of the current University of Uberaba, a non-profit institution maintained by the Sociedade Educacional Uberabense, dates back to 1940, when Mário Palmério founded the Lyceu do Triângulo Mineiro, initially located on Rua Manoel Borges. With this initiative, the educator took the first steps towards a much bolder project: to provide the quiet Uberaba of the time with a school focused on offering higher education. The academic community of the University of Uberaba has several support programs, created to support the activities of teachers and students. The programs include Tutoring, Scientific Initiation, Research Support, Monitoring and the PAE – Student Assistance Plan – which offers students legal assistance, services in the areas of Dentistry, Psychology, Nutrition, Physiotherapy, Biomedicine, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Industrial Pharmacy.
