Universidade do Extremo Sul Catarinense (UNESC)

The history of Unesc dates back to the mid-1960s, when the South of Santa Catarina was experiencing economic growth. In Capivari de Baixo, the region gained the Sociedade Termoelétrica de Capivari (Solteca), which controlled the Jorge Lacerda Thermoelectric Plant, and the State of Santa Catarina was implementing a plan of goals that considered the development of the financial, transportation, energy and telecommunications areas. On June 3, 1997, the State Education Council unanimously approved the opinion of the Rapporteur Councilor and, in a plenary session on June 17, 1997, also unanimously, definitively approved the transformation into the Universidade do Extremo Sul Catarinense (Unesc), which defined as its mission “to promote regional development to improve the quality of the living environment”, with Fucri as its sponsor.

About IEEE Institutional OA Agreements

Your institution has an OA publishing agreement with IEEE that makes it easier and more convenient for authors to publish open access. This type of agreement often includes a number of pre-paid article processing charges (APCs) to allow researchers to publish open access in eligible titles. Some institutional agreements have internal processes approving the use of APCs or limitations on the number of APCs available or the type of journals they can be used in. Please speak to your University Librarian or Open Access Administrator for more details and to check availability. Additional information can be found above regarding your institution’s OA agreement.
