Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)

It was during Professor Sebastião Guimarães Vieira’s first term as rector that Law No. 4,977 of October 11, 1987, sanctioned by then-Governor Tarcísio Burity, transformed the deficit-ridden URNe into the State University of Paraíba. From then on, new paths opened up for UEPB. The signing of the law was the culmination of the mobilization involving faculty, staff and student organizations, political leaders and professional associations. The 21st century arrived and with it the culmination of the consolidation process of the State University of Paraíba, represented by the expansion and achievement of the Institution’s Financial Autonomy. With the Autonomy granted through Law No. 7,643 of August 6, 2004, sanctioned by then-Governor Cássio Cunha Lima, UEPB inaugurated a new phase in its history. With its autonomy, UEPB was able to expand and improve the quality of undergraduate education, invest in postgraduate studies and in research and extension activities.

About IEEE Institutional OA Agreements

Your institution has an OA publishing agreement with IEEE that makes it easier and more convenient for authors to publish open access. This type of agreement often includes a number of pre-paid article processing charges (APCs) to allow researchers to publish open access in eligible titles. Some institutional agreements have internal processes approving the use of APCs or limitations on the number of APCs available or the type of journals they can be used in. Please speak to your University Librarian or Open Access Administrator for more details and to check availability. Additional information can be found above regarding your institution’s OA agreement.
