Universidade Federal de Catalão (UFCAT)
The Federal University of Catalão (UFCAT) was created in 2018, by splitting off from the Catalão Regional Campus of the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), however its history spans more than 40 years. The Catalão Campus emerged in 1982, through an agreement signed between the Federal University of Goiás and the Municipality of Catalão. The Catalão Academic Unit of the Federal University of Goiás became an Advanced Campus on December 7, 1983, by Ordinance No. 189, having been inaugurated on December 17, 1983, in a space that then housed the Primary Teacher Training Center (1966-1983). In four years, 12 undergraduate courses were created, among them: Administration, Biological Sciences, Chemistry and Physics (2006); Psychology (2007); Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering and Production Engineering (2008); Nursing, Social Sciences, and Industrial Mathematics (2009). Four years later, in 2013, the Public Administration course, distance learning modality, began its activities; the following year, 2014, the Rural Education course received its first students; in 2015 the Mathematics course, distance learning modality, offered its first class, and in 2016 the Medicine course was created, which began in 2019 with its first class.
The Universidade Federal de Catalão (UFCAT), through the national contract between CAPES and IEEE has an unlimited open access agreement with IEEE that enables researchers to publish articles as open access without open access fees in all IEEE fully and hybrid open access journals. The agreement applies to all original research articles accepted for publication between 5 November 2024 – 30 October 2027. To benefit from this agreement, the corresponding author has to be affiliated with Universidade Federal de Catalão (UFCAT). Please use the correct institution name and your institutional email address during submission. It is recommended for authors to select the CC BY 4.0 license. The open access funding request will be approved by an OA administrator at CAPES. Overlength page charges or color fees are not covered by the agreement and will be charged to authors.
