UFG is an institution of teaching, research and extension, which aims to produce, systematize and socialize knowledge and knowledge, forming professionals and citizens committed to the transformation and development of society. Over two more than 60 years of history, UFG diversified and expanded its scope and offered more than 100 in-person graduate courses, 3 in distance learning (EaD) modality. UFG offers 7 courses divided into two special academic units. In addition to graduation, UFG is in basic education, and still offers 64 stricto sensu post-graduation courses among masters, doctorates and professional masters, with more than 4 thousand students.

The Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG), through the national contract between CAPES and IEEE has an unlimited open access agreement with IEEE that enables researchers to publish articles as open access without open access fees in all IEEE fully and hybrid open access journals. The agreement applies to all original research articles accepted for publication between 5 November 2024 – 30 October 2027. To benefit from this agreement, the corresponding author has to be affiliated with Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG). The open access funding request will be approved by an OA administrator at CAPES. Overlength page charges or color fees are not covered by the agreement and will be charged to authors.
