Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso (UFMT)

Created on December 10, 1970, by Law No. 5,647, the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT) predates this date, originating from the merger of the School of Law, established in 1934, and the Institute of Sciences and Letters of Cuiabá, established in 1966. Currently, UFMT is one of two federal universities in the state, but for many years, it was the only higher education institution in Mato Grosso, constituting a significant presence in the socioeconomic and cultural landscape not only by placing thousands of undergraduate and postgraduate professionals in the job market, but also through its research and outreach activities. It also holds a significant amount of information regarding its own existence and crucial events and moments in regional and national history.

The Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso (UFMT), through the national contract between CAPES and IEEE has an unlimited open access agreement with IEEE that enables researchers to publish articles as open access without open access fees in all IEEE fully and hybrid open access journals. The agreement applies to all original research articles accepted for publication between 5 November 2024 – 30 October 2027. To benefit from this agreement, the corresponding author has to be affiliated with Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso (UFMT). Please use the correct institution name and your institutional email address during submission. It is recommended for authors to select the CC BY 4.0 license. The open access funding request will be approved by an OA administrator at CAPES. Overlength page charges or color fees are not covered by the agreement and will be charged to authors.

About IEEE Institutional OA Agreements

Your institution has an OA publishing agreement with IEEE that makes it easier and more convenient for authors to publish open access. This type of agreement often includes a number of pre-paid article processing charges (APCs) to allow researchers to publish open access in eligible titles. Some institutional agreements have internal processes approving the use of APCs or limitations on the number of APCs available or the type of journals they can be used in. Please speak to your University Librarian or Open Access Administrator for more details and to check availability. Additional information can be found above regarding your institution’s OA agreement.
