Universidade Federal do Amazonas (UFAM)

On July 3, 1964, during the 18th meeting of the Council of Directors of the Fundação Universidade do Amazonas, it was decided that the commemoration of the installation of the Universidade do Amazonas would also be the creation of the first Brazilian university, the Escola Universitária Livre de Manáos . The Universidade do Amazonas has been consolidated and expanded its structure by creating new courses and absorbing other already existing ones. As of 1968, the structure of the institution became the following: Faculty of Engineering of the Amazon, Faculty of Social Studies, Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Pharmacy and Dentistry. With most of its administrative and teaching units installed on the University Campus, UFAM currently offers 96 undergraduate and 39 post-graduation courses strictly in the sense of credentials for Capes. There are only 31 Mestrado and 8 Doutorado courses. At the Lato Sensu Post-Graduation level, there are more than 30 courses offered annually. Not that it refers to Extension, there are more than 600 projects that directly benefit the population and 17 large extension programs.

About IEEE Institutional OA Agreements

Your institution has an OA publishing agreement with IEEE that makes it easier and more convenient for authors to publish open access. This type of agreement often includes a number of pre-paid article processing charges (APCs) to allow researchers to publish open access in eligible titles. Some institutional agreements have internal processes approving the use of APCs or limitations on the number of APCs available or the type of journals they can be used in. Please speak to your University Librarian or Open Access Administrator for more details and to check availability. Additional information can be found above regarding your institution’s OA agreement.
