The history of the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ) has its roots in the Higher School of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine (Esamv), created on October 20, 1910 by Decree 8,319. The Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro – came with Law 4,759, of 1965. Since 1968, UFRRJ has been an autonomous entity (an autonomous, auxiliary and decentralized entity of the public administration), and began to operate with a more flexible structure to keep up with the university reform that was being implemented in the country. With the approval of its statute in 1970, the University expanded its areas of teaching, research and extension. In 1972, it began the credit-based course system.

The Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ), through the national contract between CAPES and IEEE has an unlimited open access agreement with IEEE that enables researchers to publish articles as open access without open access fees in all IEEE fully and hybrid open access journals. The agreement applies to all original research articles accepted for publication between 5 November 2024 – 30 October 2027. To benefit from this agreement, the corresponding author has to be affiliated with Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ). Please use the correct institution name and your institutional email address during submi​​ssion. It is recommended for authors to select the CC BY 4.0 license. The open access funding request will be approved by an OA administrator at CAPES. Overlength page charges or color fees are not covered by the agreement and will be charged to authors.

About IEEE Institutional OA Agreements
