Universidade Franciscana (UFN)

The Franciscan University, maintained by the São Francisco de Assis Charitable and Literary Society – North Zone, is a private, confessional, and community-based institution of higher education. It began with the creation of the Immaculate Conception Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters (FIC) and the Our Lady Mediatrix Faculty of Nursing (FACEM) in 1955. UFN built its university identity through a process of organization, scientific knowledge, partnerships, and academic training that enabled its transformation into a university, a trajectory that includes new challenges.

The Universidade Franciscana (UFN), through the national contract between CAPES and IEEE has an unlimited open access agreement with IEEE that enables researchers to publish articles as open access without open access fees in all IEEE fully and hybrid open access journals. The agreement applies to all original research articles accepted for publication between 5 November 2024 – 30 October 2027. To benefit from this agreement, the corresponding author has to be affiliated with Universidade Franciscana (UFN). Please use the correct institution name and your institutional email address during submission. It is recommended for authors to select the CC BY 4.0 license. The open access funding request will be approved by an OA administrator at CAPES. Overlength page charges or color fees are not covered by the agreement and will be charged to authors.

About IEEE Institutional OA Agreements

Your institution has an OA publishing agreement with IEEE that makes it easier and more convenient for authors to publish open access. This type of agreement often includes a number of pre-paid article processing charges (APCs) to allow researchers to publish open access in eligible titles. Some institutional agreements have internal processes approving the use of APCs or limitations on the number of APCs available or the type of journals they can be used in. Please speak to your University Librarian or Open Access Administrator for more details and to check availability. Additional information can be found above regarding your institution’s OA agreement.
