Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba (UNIMEP)

The origin of Unimep is linked to the Piracicabano College, founded in 1881 by the American missionary Martha Watts. The quality, pioneering spirit, and distinctive teaching led to the creation, in 1964, of the first higher education courses: economics, administration, and accounting sciences, initially grouped together as Integrated Faculties. This expansion resulted in Unimep being recognized by the Ministry of Education as the first Methodist university in Latin America in 1975.

Currently, Unimep offers undergraduate courses (bachelor’s and technological degrees), as well as postgraduate courses (specialization, MBAs, master’s and doctoral degrees). The institution has the following units: Taquaral, in Piracicaba, and Lins, in the municipality of Lins.

The Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba (UNIMEP), through the national contract between CAPES and IEEE has an unlimited open access agreement with IEEE that enables researchers to publish articles as open access without open access fees in all IEEE fully and hybrid open access journals. The agreement applies to all original research articles accepted for publication between 5 November 2024 – 30 October 2027. About IEEE Institutional OA Agreements

Your institution has an OA publishing agreement with IEEE that makes it easier and more convenient for authors to publish open access. This type of agreement often includes a number of pre-paid article processing charges (APCs) to allow researchers to publish open access in eligible titles. Some institutional agreements have internal processes approving the use of APCs or limitations on the number of APCs available or the type of journals they can be used in. Please speak to your University Librarian or Open Access Administrator for more details and to check availability. Additional information can be found above regarding your institution’s OA agreement.
