Founded on August 6, 1868 as the “Scuola Superiore di Commercio” (Advanced School for Commerce), Ca’ Foscari was the first Italian institution to deal with advanced education in Business and Economics.

Ca’ Foscari University has 8 departments and many other research and learning centres. The academic departments are: Economics, Philosophy and Cultural Heritage, Management, Environmental Sciences Informatics and Statistics, Molecular Sciences and Nanosystems, Linguistics and Comparative Cultural Studies, Asian and North African Studies, Humanities.

The university offers a wide range of excellent undergraduate, graduate and PhD programmes whose quality is recognized by national and international achievements; some graduate and PhD programmes are completely held in English.

Ca’ Foscari University through the national contract between CRUI and IEEE has an unlimited open access agreement with IEEE that enables researchers to publish articles as open access without open access fees in all IEEE fully and hybrid open access journals. The agreement applies to all original research articles accepted for publication between August 1, 2022 and December 31, 2024. To benefit from this agreement, the corresponding author has to be affiliated with Ca’ Foscari University. Please use the correct institution name and your institutional email address during submission. It is recommended for authors to select the CC BY 4.0 license. The open access funding request will be approved by an administrator in the library.
