Università degli studi di Milano-Bicocca

The University of Milano-Bicocca is a young university founded in 1998. On 10 June 1998 a Ministerial Decree established the Second University of Milan. A subsequent decree of 12 March 1999 changed the name of the university to the University of Milano-Bicocca.

The University of Milano-Bicocca runs a wide range of degree courses (economics, statistics, educational sciences, law, medicine and surgery, psychology, sciences, sociology) and post-graduate courses including Master’s, proficiency and advanced courses, PhDs and specialisation schools.

Bicocca through the national contract between CRUI and IEEE has an unlimited open access agreement with IEEE that enables researchers to publish articles as open access without open access fees in all IEEE fully and hybrid open access journals. The agreement applies to all original research articles accepted for publication between August 1, 2022 and December 31, 2024. To benefit from this agreement, the corresponding author has to be affiliated with the University of Milano-Bicocca. It is necessary to use the correct institution name and your institutional email address during submission. It is recommended for authors to select the CC BY 4.0 license. The open access funding request will be approved by an administrator in the library.
Overlength page charges or color fees are not covered by the agreement and will be charged to authors.

About IEEE Institutional OA Agreements

Your institution has an OA publishing agreement with IEEE that makes it easier and more convenient for authors to publish open access. This type of agreement often includes a number of pre-paid article processing charges (APCs) to allow researchers to publish open access in eligible titles. Some institutional agreements have internal processes approving the use of APCs or limitations on the number of APCs available or the type of journals they can be used in. Please speak to your University Librarian or Open Access Administrator for more details and to check availability. Additional information can be found above regarding your institution’s OA agreement.
