University of Liverpool
The University of Liverpool fully supports the principles and practice of open access publishing and provides support to those authors wishing to make their outputs available immediately on an open access basis. The university is part of the IEEE Open Access Unlimited agreement, which means that all University of Liverpool staff can make their work open access immediately on publication in the 100+ IEEE journals that have gold open access options.
On acceptance you will be asked if you wish to make your work open access – once you’ve said yes, the library team will be asked to confirm that you are a member of staff at the university. Once this has been confirmed, your work will be made available on an open access basis, under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License (which will meet the requirements of all major research funders).
If you need any open access related help, please visit the library’s open access website at http://libguides.liverpool.ac.uk/openaccess/.
To make the CC BY license available as quickly as possible under the Route 2 option, IEEE has developed a process that engages authors during their online publication agreement where they may identify themselves as an author with UKRI funding. Upon completion of the copyright agreement, UKRI funded authors will automatically obtain a permission to apply the CC BY license to their accepted manuscript. To further meet the Route 2 requirements, the submissions should include the following text in the funding acknowledgement section of the manuscript and any cover note accompanying the submission:
For the purpose of open access, the author(s) has applied a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license to any Accepted Manuscript version arising
