Author Benefits

Visibility. Credibility. Flexibility.

Authors publish with IEEE for heightened visibility, industry credibility, and the broad range of options available. IEEE continues to be one of the most highly cited publishers in the field and now offers more open access options than ever for authors to share their research with the technical community.

Authors will find that publishing with IEEE ensures professional development and exposure to their research.

Optimized Visibility

Researchers rely on IEEE for trusted information. Over fifteen million downloads from over five million unique users each month is strong evidence that the IEEE Xplore® Digital Library provides authors with the visibility they seek.

IEEE maintains active partnerships with abstracting and indexing providers such as Elsevier, EBSCO, OCLC, Clarivate Analytics, ProQuest, IET, and NLM to maximize the discovery of author works.

IEEE Reputation

Each author enjoys the advantage of becoming part of IEEE’s stellar reputation and rich history of innovation, forged from over 125 years of publishing and serving as the trusted “voice” for engineering, computing, and technology information around the globe. Past and present members include nearly two dozen Nobel Prize-winning innovators.

Today, IEEE has over 400,000 professional and student members who will shape technology for years to come.

About IEEE Institutional OA Agreements

Your institution has an OA publishing agreement with IEEE that makes it easier and more convenient for authors to publish open access. This type of agreement often includes a number of pre-paid article processing charges (APCs) to allow researchers to publish open access in eligible titles. Some institutional agreements have internal processes approving the use of APCs or limitations on the number of APCs available or the type of journals they can be used in. Please speak to your University Librarian or Open Access Administrator for more details and to check availability. Additional information can be found above regarding your institution’s OA agreement.
