Institutional Open Access Options

Open Access Solutions for Institutions and Funders

IEEE offers open access programs designed to make it convenient for institutions and funders to support and manage costs for authors and simplify the publishing process by paying for article processing charges (APCs) in advance.

In addition, IEEE offers a helpful open access administration system for institutional customers: RightsLink for Scientific Communications (RLSC). Administrators can easily track, manage, and report on funding requests.

IEEE has flexible options for any size organization designed to make it easy for institutions to assist their authors and demonstrate their support for open access.

About IEEE Institutional OA Agreements

Your institution has an OA publishing agreement with IEEE that makes it easier and more convenient for authors to publish open access. This type of agreement often includes a number of pre-paid article processing charges (APCs) to allow researchers to publish open access in eligible titles. Some institutional agreements have internal processes approving the use of APCs or limitations on the number of APCs available or the type of journals they can be used in. Please speak to your University Librarian or Open Access Administrator for more details and to check availability. Additional information can be found above regarding your institution’s OA agreement.
