Hybrid Open Access Journals

Journals that Support Open Access

IEEE’s hybrid journals span an array of technology fields and offer the benefits of established impact factors, as well as open access online. The majority of all IEEE transactions, journals, and letters offer a hybrid option, which permits both traditional subscription-based content as well as open access content.

Most IEEE hybrid journals have an established impact factor and are very well respected. Additionally, the review process is the same whether publishing an OA or traditional article for all hybrid journals. Any open access papers published within a hybrid journal will be included in all media types offered by that title.

IEEE provides a wide range of quality publications that make the exchange of technical knowledge and information possible among technology professionals. Browse the titles displayed in IEEE Xplore® to find the IEEE publication that is right for you.

About IEEE Institutional OA Agreements

Your institution has an OA publishing agreement with IEEE that makes it easier and more convenient for authors to publish open access. This type of agreement often includes a number of pre-paid article processing charges (APCs) to allow researchers to publish open access in eligible titles. Some institutional agreements have internal processes approving the use of APCs or limitations on the number of APCs available or the type of journals they can be used in. Please speak to your University Librarian or Open Access Administrator for more details and to check availability. Additional information can be found above regarding your institution’s OA agreement.
