IFPA
The Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Pará (IFPA) is a multi-curricular, multi-campus, higher education, basic and professional institution, specialized in offering professional and technological education in different teaching modalities, based on the combination of technical and technological knowledge and its pedagogical practices. IFPA was created by Art. 5, item XX, of Law No. 11.892, of 12/29/2008, through the integration of the Federal Center of Technological Education of Pará (CEFET/PA), the Federal Agricultural School of Castanhal (EAFC) and the Federal Agricultural School of Marabá (EAFMB). CEFET-PA has been operating in professional education for 108 years and the Federal Agricultural School of Castanhal has been operating for 96 years. The newest of the three institutions that merged to form the IFPA was the Federal Agricultural School of Marabá, which was created in 2008. Linked to the Ministry of Education, the Federal Institute of Pará has the legal status of an autonomous agency, holding administrative, patrimonial, financial, didactic-pedagogical and disciplinary autonomy. Strategically positioned to cover most of the state of Pará, the IFPA has a rectorate, 18 campuses and covers more than 70% of the state.
