Los Alamos National Laboratory

Our mission is to solve national security challenges through simultaneous excellence.

We achieve maximum impact on strategic national security priorities by integrating research and development solutions with operational excellence and community engagement.

As a federally funded research and development center, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) aligns our strategic plan with priorities set by the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE NNSA) and key national strategy guidance documents. We execute work across all of DOE’s missions: national security, science, energy, and environmental management. Scientific and engineering capabilities developed through LANL’s stockpile research are part of what makes DOE and NNSA a science, technology, and engineering powerhouse for the nation.

LANL’s Research Library amplifies the Laboratory’s mission-driven research by enabling LANL researchers to learn powerful skills and access expertise and scholarly information, developing new methods for managing data and information, and connecting researchers with colleagues and the broader scientific ecosystem. With that in mind, the LANL Research Library is participating in the IEEE OA On Demand program which offers a discount on IEEE APC fees for LANL authors. More information on the APC fee process and Open Access for LANL authors can be found below.

About IEEE Institutional OA Agreements

Your institution has an OA publishing agreement with IEEE that makes it easier and more convenient for authors to publish open access. This type of agreement often includes a number of pre-paid article processing charges (APCs) to allow researchers to publish open access in eligible titles. Some institutional agreements have internal processes approving the use of APCs or limitations on the number of APCs available or the type of journals they can be used in. Please speak to your University Librarian or Open Access Administrator for more details and to check availability. Additional information can be found above regarding your institution’s OA agreement.
