Shandong University of Science and Technology (SDUST), founded in 1951, offers multidisciplinary education in engineering, sciences, management, literature, law, economics and education with unique engineering characteristics. It is a key construction university of Shandong Province for cultivating personnel with practical abilities and a high-level university.

The University now has three campuses, located respectively in Qingdao, Tai’an and Jinan, covering a total area of 253 hectares with a floor space of 1.46 million square meters. The total value of fixed assets of the university reached to 3 billion yuan, and the total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 800 million yuan. The University comprises 33 academic colleges and 5 research institutions. There are 9 centers for post-doctoral studies, 10 first-tier disciplines authorized to confer doctoral degrees and 31 first-tier disciplines authorized to confer master degrees; 19 disciplines to confer master’s degrees and 96 undergraduate programs. The University boasts 1 state key discipline (under construction), 4 hig-level disciplines of Shandong province, 5 first class disciplines of Shandong province and 19 key disciplines of Shandong province and Qingdao city. Engineering, mathematics, chemistry, materials science Earth science and computer science have entered the top 1% of ESI in the world. There’s also a state key lab base co-founded by Shandong Province and the Ministry of Education, 2 state-local joint engineering centers, 1 national engineering lab and 92 ministerial/Qingdao city-level Lab (base) and Engineering (Technology) Research Center .

IEEE and DRAA, the Digital Resource Acquisition Alliance of Chinese Academic Libraries, have entered into an open access read and publish agreement. This agreement makes it more convenient for corresponding authors to publish open access articles with IEEE’s industry leading journals and magazines as eligible authors pay reduced article processing charges (APCs) and may have the opportunity to pay no APCs as some of these costs are waived under the agreement.
