The Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava

The Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STU) is a modern research and higher education institution. It continues a legacy of the 260-year-old Mining Academy in Banská Štiavnica, where the foundations of vocational and practical learning were established. STU offers education in technical fields and involves students in research in natural sciences, computer sciences, construction, architecture, materials technologies, chemistry and food technologies.

At international level, STU has closed hundreds of collaboration agreements with foreign universities, faculties and research institutes. Every year almost 500 students are sent abroad on study stays and/or participate in student exchange programmes.

Research teams at the University are involved in international projects and annually deal with about 900 research projects funded through grants and hundreds of research contracts commissioned by businesses.

The Transformative Agreement between IEEE and Slovak CVTI Consortium provides access to more than 100 scientific journals for the consortium of 7 Slovak academic institutions.

This agreement will ensure that corresponding authors affiliated with participating institutions are eligible to publish their articles open access with fees covered in hybrid and OA journals across the IEEE portfolio.

Please note: Overlength page charges or color fees are not covered by the agreement and will be charged to authors.

About IEEE Institutional OA Agreements

Your institution has an OA publishing agreement with IEEE that makes it easier and more convenient for authors to publish open access. This type of agreement often includes a number of pre-paid article processing charges (APCs) to allow researchers to publish open access in eligible titles. Some institutional agreements have internal processes approving the use of APCs or limitations on the number of APCs available or the type of journals they can be used in. Please speak to your University Librarian or Open Access Administrator for more details and to check availability. Additional information can be found above regarding your institution’s OA agreement.
