Universidad de Zaragoza

The Universidad de Zaragoza is a public institution of research and higher education at the service of society, which combines a tradition of almost five centuries of history (it was founded in 1542), with advanced research and the permanent updating of its teachings. It is the only public university in Aragon, which contributes to the articulation of its territory, and the main research center of the Ebro Valley. It is a generalist university, with a wide offer in all fields of knowledge, both in undergraduate, master’s and doctoral studies, as well as in the offer of its own degrees.

The Universidad de Zaragoza, through the national contract between CRUE and IEEE, has an open access agreement with IEEE. The agreement enables researchers to publish articles as open access with a 20% discount on eligible APCs for publishing in IEEE Gold journals and a predetermined number of covered open access fees in all IEEE hybrid open access journals. To see eligible titles, please refer to the IEEE open access title list. The agreement applies to all original research articles accepted for publication between now and December 31, 2025. To benefit from this agreement, the corresponding author has to be affiliated with Universidad de Zaragoza and use the correct institution name and institutional email address during submission. It is recommended for authors to select the CC BY 4.0 license. The open access funding request will be approved by an administrator in the library. Overlength page charges or color fees are not covered by the agreement and will be charged to authors.

About IEEE Institutional OA Agreements

Your institution has an OA publishing agreement with IEEE that makes it easier and more convenient for authors to publish open access. This type of agreement often includes a number of pre-paid article processing charges (APCs) to allow researchers to publish open access in eligible titles. Some institutional agreements have internal processes approving the use of APCs or limitations on the number of APCs available or the type of journals they can be used in. Please speak to your University Librarian or Open Access Administrator for more details and to check availability. Additional information can be found above regarding your institution’s OA agreement.
