IEEE and Hong Kong Baptist University Announce New Open Access Agreement

IEEE and Hong Kong Baptist University Announce New Open Access Agreement 1200 628 IEEE Open

IEEE is pleased to announce a new open access read and publish agreement with Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU).

With this new agreement, researchers from HKBU are now able to publish open access articles in all IEEE journals and take advantage of reading access to over five million documents from the IEEE Xplore Digital Library, including scientific journals, conference proceedings, and IEEE standards. The agreement makes it easy for HKBU authors to publish open access articles in over 200 leading IEEE journals and magazines, making them instantly available and free to read by the public. IEEE journal topics range from electrical engineering, aerospace systems, computer science, and telecommunications to biomedical engineering, artificial intelligence, consumer electronics, and much more.

IEEE has continued to expand its open access program and now publishes more than 160 hybrid journals, which publish both open access and subscription-based content, and nearly 30 fully open access titles in fields such as computing, telecommunications, biomedical engineering, nanotechnology and many other related fields.

About IEEE Institutional OA Agreements

Your institution has an OA publishing agreement with IEEE that makes it easier and more convenient for authors to publish open access. This type of agreement often includes a number of pre-paid article processing charges (APCs) to allow researchers to publish open access in eligible titles. Some institutional agreements have internal processes approving the use of APCs or limitations on the number of APCs available or the type of journals they can be used in. Please speak to your University Librarian or Open Access Administrator for more details and to check availability. Additional information can be found above regarding your institution’s OA agreement.
