IEEE and the University of Illinois Begin Open Access Agreement 900 471 IEEE Open

IEEE and University of Illinois, are pleased to announce that they’ve entered into an open access read and publish agreement.

With this new agreement, researchers will have access to IEEE’s premier collection of journals, conferences, and standards via the IEEE Xplore® Digital Library. The university’s authors are also able to publish articles via open access in over 160 leading journals and magazines published by IEEE, making them instantly available and free to read by the general public. In today’s environment, it is important for researchers to continue to innovate, and that they are provided with the resources and publishing options they need to do so. Both the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) and Chicago campuses are part of this content agreement.

About IEEE Institutional OA Agreements

Your institution has an OA publishing agreement with IEEE that makes it easier and more convenient for authors to publish open access. This type of agreement often includes a number of pre-paid article processing charges (APCs) to allow researchers to publish open access in eligible titles. Some institutional agreements have internal processes approving the use of APCs or limitations on the number of APCs available or the type of journals they can be used in. Please speak to your University Librarian or Open Access Administrator for more details and to check availability. Additional information can be found above regarding your institution’s OA agreement.
